DISABILITY EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

Disability Employment Service (DES) is an Australian Government
Employment Program funded by Department Education Employment and Workplace
Relations (DEEWR). All eligible people with diability will have access to
individually tailored services that provide capacity, building, training, work
experience and other interventions to help participants to obtain suitable
employment opportunities.
DES is available at the following Employment WORKS
sites:
Swan Hill, Donald, Kerang, Barham, Deniliquin, Griffith, Leeton, Hay,
Balranald and Robinvale sites.

Update – Employment WORKS delivery of new Disability Employment Services
(DES).
From March 1 2010 Disability Services Australia wide will change from
Disability Employment Network (DEN) to DES.
Services delivered prior to March
1 through DEN were capped resulting in many job seekers missing out on DEN
services as a result of DEN providers having a limited number of places
available.
From 1 March 2010 all job seekers either in receipt of a Disability
Support Pension (DSP) or who have a permanent disability with an assessed need
for more long-term regular ongoing support in the workplace, will be able to
access Employment WORKS DES to receive employment assistance to obtain and
maintain employment in the open labor
market.
Employment WORKS services are flexible and tailored to assist each
individual with a disability, we will ensure you have early access to a wide
range of services both local and via distance education (if required), provide
you with the right employment and education assistance as early as possible,
place more emphasis on education, training and skills
development.
